This painting has a personal connection; these ceramic pieces were all thrown by daughter, Veronica, and are used daily in our home. Painted in neutrals, the touches of complementary color---Burnt Sienna (with a touch of Alizarin Crimson) centered between Greens, while yellow Pears are complemented by violet shadows in crumbled cloth--- give the eye places to focus. The border is painted as well, adding yet another dimension to the handcrafted motif. (The original painting was a gift for Veronica's very first Mother's Day, and lovingly hangs in her kitchen.)
