Vera’s love of detail, animals, and earth developed as a child while examining plants, and small animals in the fields of Kansas. Her early years were spent painting with whatever she could scrounge around her farm home; shoepolish, food coloring, mashed mulberries . . . just to name a few items Vera would use as a paint.
Once out of HS and college, and with studies in graphic art behind, her spirit of adventure continued; first to Cape Kennedy, Florida during her early twenties, then to California, all of the while gaining prospective and an appreciation for current events. At age thirty, Vera moved back to Kansas where she opened an innovative clothing store for Tall women and, as a single-mother raised a daughter. All thrived and flourished.
After a sever injury in the early 1990's, watercolor came to the rescue with Vera becoming an artist full time. She strives to capture the intricate detail of Zoo Animals (contained but not captive), floral and greenery (earth's oxygen), pets, and other images caught by the lens of her camera.
